About
“How things get worse, before we make them get worse . . .” to paraphrase an American poet, seems to be the mantra of the Middle East for decades now.
Many other expressions would further convey the gloomy realities of this region.
Yet, one reality never seems to be addressed properly, that is the world’s understanding of the Middle East, and vice versa.
UMET aims to provide a closer look into the minds of the new players and decision makers as well as the developing public opinion trends without ignoring the old establishment which continues to wield its influence over the region.
UMET aims to provide a knowledgeable, professional and credible Middle Eastern viewpoint, delivering timely insights that will enable a proper in-depth dialogue with the West, and ultimately aim to promote a different perspective of the region.
UMET will attempt to help introduce different systems of democracy and good governance to the region through writings from international contributors.
UMET will leverage a wide network of high level relationships build in the region and in the west to provide readers with reliable and credible information in order to generate incisive and lucid reports and analyses on complex matters that will help them gain insight into the complex geopolitical, social and economic issues that the Middle East is facing.
We look forward to your understanding, contribution and support through this process so that, hopefully, things get better before they get catastrophically much worse.
